Middle Park Extension

Sited between the leafy streets of Middle Park, the project The project aims to respect its heritage frontage through a restrained rectilinear from that addresses its laneway frontage.

 

Though an interior-centric approach to spatial planning. The extension rejects the idea of “the back yard”. Instead habitable spaces wrap around a central courtyard that provides multiple aspects rather than a singular rear façade. Opening up the living spaces to additional natural light and improved cross ventilation.

Robust materials have been used on expanse to respond to the inhabitants exposed structure and metal detailing informs the overall Pallete softened with an expanded use of timber joinery and granite flooring.
