Dromana Hub
The Dromana Hub is the retail and commercial heart of Dromana. The current supermarket is world class, and the land of the carpark and perimeter sites require updates to bring the architecture up to a level honouring this prime location.
The first two sites are the Northern corner on the beach front and the Southern corner behind the supermarket. Both sites are anchor and gateway sites which will inform the rest of the precinct as it develops.
The Northern site has an emphasis on retail and food and beverage and a strong public interface, encouraging pedestrian flow from the beach to the retail and covered outside spaces to gather and dine and socialise.
The Southern site is a proposed medical centre, to service the area. The building design transforms what was the neglected rear of the supermarket and activates the street.
The materiality of both buildings are complementary, with Red Corten batten facades boldly marking their place in the streetscapes, landscapes and coastal setting.
